With 195 years of continuous family home ownership and millions of memories, an immense sense of obligation and nostalgia was felt while restoring this long-standing homestead to its original glory. Today, the beautifully restored interior design of this cape is a historical icon in Duxbury, MA. The attached barn was relocated in 1877 from its downtown location to be used to house the original homeowner’s cattle.

Buried for decades, in a dusty old art portfolio, laid hidden treasures created by the homeowner’s beloved family members. A tree drawn on sketch paper by his mother and a “dark” mysterious abstract by his aunt were two pieces resurrected from the collection. Now, these amazing works of art are among the many details that add personality and charm to this newly renovated powder room.
