Our Design Process

Initial Meeting

Essential to any successful design project is the designer/client relationship. At Susan Curtis Interiors we strive to cultivate relationships that allow us to gather insight about who you are, how you live, what inspires you and why. Through a thoughtful interview process we gather information to develop a comprehensive design solution tailored to suit your lifestyle, personal design aesthetic and budget.

Contract

With a clear understanding of the client’s budget and the scope of the project determined, a customized contract is created.  Included as part of this document is an itemization of design elements requested by the client to be furnished by Susan Curtis Interiors.  Upon review, signed approval and receipt of the initial retainer, the conceptual planning and design phase will commence.

Conceptual Design

Considering the information attained during the initial meeting along with the terms and conditions of the contract, the conceptual design plan is formulated.  When applicable, floor plans, wall elevations, sketches, and furniture layouts are prepared.  All design elements are selected and mindful choices compiled for presentation to the client. Upon feedback and approval, selections are finalized and orders placed.

Implementation

During the implementation phase we will execute against the plan based on the specifications of the signed contract. We will oversee the design process and keep you and your build/remodel team abreast of order status, following up accordingly.  Upon installation of all major design elements arrangements are made to complete the finishing details giving your home the unique personality you desire.

Susan took us out of our comfort zone several times, and we thank her for it! Our newly designed space is amazing and we are glad she encouraged us to step outside of the box. Our home is comfortable, elegant and unique to our lifestyle and is a perfect place to raise our family, as well as a showplace for our guests to enjoy.
